Carolyn Reid

Master ART Practitioner
I work with adults navigating the lasting effects of trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD (C-PTSD), attachment wounds, anxiety, perfectionism, shame, self-doubt, and difficult relationship patterns. Many of the people I see are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware. They may understand why they feel or respond as they do, yet find that insight alone hasn't been enough to create lasting change.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART®) offers a way to address distressing memories, emotions, and body-based responses without having to recount every detail of what happened. ART uses guided eye movements and imagery to help reduce the emotional and physiological distress associated with difficult experiences.

My approach is attachment-focused, relational, and trauma-informed. Alongside ART, I draw on somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and compassion-based parts work to support people navigating developmental, childhood and relational trauma, chronic stress, burnout, overthinking, people-pleasing, boundary difficulties, low self-esteem, and longstanding negative beliefs about themselves.

I prioritize building a trusting therapeutic relationship where experiences that once felt difficult to see, understand, or face become more approachable. Our work creates room for greater clarity and compassion, while supporting changes that go beyond intellectual understanding.

I offer individual therapy and couples therapy that may use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART®). Sessions are in person in Portland, Oregon, and online or virtual through telehealth throughout Oregon and California. I offer a complimentary consultation to connect and see if we're a good fit.
