Jody Pratt

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Master ART Practitioner
You’ve worked hard to keep it all together, and now you’re ready for a change. Finding a therapist who gets you matters.

Hi, I’m Jody Pratt, a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT); I've been in practice for more than 15 years. I help people whose nervous systems are stuck in survival mode using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a fast-acting, evidence-based trauma therapy that works with eye movements and doesn’t require you to retell every detail of what happened.

I offer online ART therapy via telehealth to clients in Arizona, California, and Pennsylvania. I don’t take insurance, but I can provide documentation to help with out-of-network reimbursement.

Because my practice is fully virtual, I work mainly with adults and older teens. People often come to me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted from poor sleep. Many have done talk therapy and understand what happened, but still can’t change their reactions in the moment with people they love or at work.

What I work with using ART:

- Trauma, PTSD, and complex trauma
- Childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect
- Domestic violence
- Car accidents
- Traumatic birth experiences
- Flashbacks, nightmares, and night terrors
- Anxiety, panic, and overwhelm
- Rumination (replaying things over and over in your head)
- Grief and loss
- Broken relationships and relationship patterns
- People pleasing
- Emotional eating and binge eating
- Substance use to cope or avoid feelings
- Physical aggression and anger
- ADHD symptoms
- Cognitive difficulties following brain injury
- Religious trauma

How we work together:
I start with an intake session to build your ART plan. Then we book 2 to 3 sessions in one week, followed by a debrief to decide next steps. Many people move to weekly sessions for about a month, and by then they usually feel much better and more like themselves. However, if your schedule or finances do not allow the intensive week, a weekly appointment will be effective too. It's up to you.

When there was no “before”:
ART works well on its own when life was pretty good before something happened because the brain wants to return to that earlier level of functioning, identity and confidence. Many of my clients have no “before.” They’ve never known a supportive parent or a partner who shows up. I help these clients too; building an adult identity through ART is a journey I walk with people often.

I'm Licensed in:
Arizona LMFT #15573
California LMFT #79027
Pennsylvania LMFT #MF00162

You need to be physically located in one of these states during sessions.

If you’re interested in working with me, the next step is to schedule a free phone consultation to see if I’m the right fit for you. You can book this consultation through my website. https://jodyprattcounseling.com

Trauma is any way in which the brain gets pushed off track from optimal development and functioning, even if there was no major event like a bomb, abuse, accident, fire, loss or broken relationship.
