Stacy Mckenzie PhD

Clinical Mental Health Counselor

ART Trained Therapist
One of the most important things we need in our own lives is balance. This is often difficult to achieve with life's constant demands on our time and energy. Without balance, life becomes wearisome and, at times, unmanageable. We begin to wonder if there is meaning in our lives or even if it's "worth the trouble." In the effort to find relief or comfort, we may find ourselves drawn to self-defeating and even destructive behaviors that offer immediate yet temporary relief. There are other options; a different perspective may help. I offer just this to my clients.

My approach to therapy is strength-based and solution-oriented. I believe everyone has the skills they need to solve the challenges they face. In a nonjudgmental environment, clients approach individual issues. Some issues have included depression, trauma and loss, pornography, and marital difficulties, as well as adolescent behavior concerns.

I have approximately 25 years of experience in mental health treatment, which is trauma-focused and trauma-informed. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR), Accelerated Reprocessing Therapy (ART), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
