Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Basic ART Practitioner
ART Therapist · Compassion Sense Therapy · Tucson, AZ · In-person and telehealth throughout Arizona

I’ve been a trauma therapist for more than 15 years. Much of that time has been spent with people who have already tried therapy and come away feeling only partly helped. They understand their history. They can explain why they react the way they do. Their bodies just haven’t caught up yet. That gap is where I like to work.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is the approach I reach for most. I’m also trained in EMDR, but I’ve found that ART moves more efficiently and is gentler on clients. People don’t have to narrate every detail of what happened to them, and the work tends to land in ways they can actually feel, often within a small number of sessions. I use ART for PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), anxiety, grief, and the stuck, looping memories that don’t always shift with talk therapy alone.

ART fits inside a broader somatic, body-based approach to trauma therapy. I draw on sensorimotor psychotherapy, NARM (the NeuroAffective Relational Model) for developmental and attachment trauma, polyvagal theory and nervous system regulation, parts work informed by structural dissociation, and Deep Brain Reorienting. In practice, that means I pay close attention to pacing, to what your nervous system can tolerate, and to the parts of you that may not be ready for change yet.

I have a particular understanding of highly sensitive people (HSPs), clients who feel things deeply, notice everything, and have often been told they’re “too much.” I help people work with their sensitivity rather than against it.

I also co-host Two Therapists Walk Into a Podcast, if you’d like a sense of how I think and talk before reaching out.
